Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

When Democratic Mod is added to your Discord server, we collect and process the following data:

• Discord user IDs and usernames — to track vote participation, reporter scores, and offense history.
• Message content — only from reported messages and the reporting user's message history in the server, for the purpose of AI review. Messages are not stored permanently after review.
• Server (guild) ID and name — to store per-server settings and credits.
• Moderation actions — warnings, mutes, bans, and reasons, stored to build cross-server offense history.
• Payment data — Solana wallet addresses and transaction amounts, for credit processing. No personal financial data is stored.

2. How we use your data

We use collected data exclusively to operate the bot:

• Processing moderation votes and AI review requests
• Storing per-server settings and configurations
• Tracking reporter scores and reward milestones
• Building cross-server offense history to identify repeat bad actors
• Processing SOL payments and managing credit balances

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. AI processing

Reported messages and message history are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. This data is processed according to Anthropic's privacy policy. Message content is not stored by us after the AI review is complete.

Word masks set by server admins are applied before messages reach the AI — masking configured words to protect sensitive content.

4. Cross-server data sharing

Moderation actions (warnings, mutes, bans) and associated reasons are shared across all servers using Democratic Mod. This is a core feature of the service — when a user is reported on one server, their history from other servers is provided to the AI for context.

5. Data retention

• Message content — not retained after AI review
• Moderation history — retained for the lifetime of the service unless deletion is requested
• Server settings — retained while the bot is in the server; deleted upon removal on request
• Payment records — retained for accounting purposes

6. Data deletion requests

You can request deletion of your data by contacting us. Server admins can request deletion of all data associated with their server. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Security

All data is stored on a private server. Database access is restricted. We use industry-standard practices to protect stored data. Payment processing uses Solana blockchain — private keys are never stored in plaintext.

8. Children's privacy

Democratic Mod is not directed at children under 13. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
